About Randy

Prior to becoming a personal trainer I worked for UPS for 30 years. I started out in the brown trucks which kept me fit. I was in and out of truck all day and lifting heavy boxes.

I eventually became a sleeper team driver, driving across country, logging 5200 miles per week. I began stopping at fast food places all along the interstates of this great country; fried chicken, burgers, Cinnabon, ice cream, etc. and I did hours and hours of sitting with no physical activity.

Slowly I gained weight, got high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

When tying my shoes made me out of breath I knew I needed to make a change immediately. I began packing healthy meals for my week on the road and started working out on the days I was home.

In 8 months I went from 214 lbs. to 185 lbs. and I never looked back. I learned how to eat healthy and manage my weight with 3-4 workouts per week.

Getting started was not easy because I was 50 years old and I thought it was too late to get in shape. I quickly found out that was not true. I’m in better shape now than ever and have maintained my fitness for 10 years. Lesson learned… it’s never too late!!

I became a trainer to help those over 50 who may be feeling like I did when I decided my health should be top priority. I’d like to help people who think it’s too late to do anything about their health and show them they can positively change their physique and overall health at any age.

Boomers and older adults can benefit tremendously from regular exercise (even low impact exercise) and nutritional changes (even if they are small). I can accommodate any physical limitation and can even do aquatic workouts if you have a pool.

What are you waiting for?

To turn a lifelong couch potato into a gym rat is no small feat. Randy is terrific. He suggests exercise routines that are individualized and challenging, but not more than you can handle. Also, he is a very interesting -- and interested -- person.
